Malmo is the last stop
before starting our journey home. It wasn’t on the itinerary until the day before, but
I was excited to be in Sweden for one more day. I had yet to visit a grocery market in Sweden
and now would be able to stock up on a few spices to bring home.
Copenhagen was a surprise destination, added to our itinerary when we realized we had a free day between professional commitments in Stockholm and Malmo. So, we decided to explore Copenhagen.
We arrived after the sunset, it was a long travel day. I don't think I mentioned that we had car trouble near Vastervik that required us to find a service station. And we had to change hotel rooms. After settling into our new room and talking to our son, we decided to enjoy a meal at the hotel.
I'm so excited to share Sweden with you! But first, let me share something that happens often... a hectic travel day. Transport to the Geneva airport took double the time. We ALWAYS take the train, but someone coordinated a car for us (a major no no). The driver ended up driving on the shoulder for about half of the trip. Weaving in and out of traffic. Later we learned this was all due to the Geneva Auto Show. We arrived at the airport 60 minutes before takeoff.
This photo was taken on an afternoon hike up the hillside of Vevey - where you can get the best workout! I love this sweet village, but business had us staying one village to the west. Only four kilometers seperate Vevey and Montreux so I'm able to move between the two with ease. Montreux is home to the Jazz Festival and was the host to Bill's week long conference. I was able to work and explore before travelingto Sweden for the weekend.
